My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
This was my late grandpas favorite hymn. I recently found out that he sang this hymn at least twice a day. He would also read his bible out loud, in a melodious way, almost like he was singing the bible verses. I wish I got to grow up knowing him, asking him silly questions about life. He passed away around 20 years ago.
Harabujee, did you know that you were the first Christian on both sides of my family tree?? Thank you for your faith and your love for Jesus Christ. I cant wait to meet you in heaven. You were probably such a godly gangster. Lets sing this hymn together. Teach me how to sing it in Korean, and I will teach you in English.
